We were between the ages of 7 and 13.
12 hours wasn’t enough time for play.
10 hours wasn’t enough time for sleep.
We had done poorly in school.
We deserved to.
“Education isn’t compulsory, I have many lands, you could inherit one each and become farmers” dad said sternly.
We had seen farmers give blood, tears and sweat.
In the rain and in the sun.
The picture wasn’t good enough.
We chose education.
We got educated and the lands are still our INHERITANCE.
Could we be educated farmers?
Now we’ve got a double.
But still not enough sleep, neither enough time to play.
